About me

My name is Jacob Tucker. My wife Elizabeth and I are the owners and trainers at TAP Training. It has been a lifelong goal of mine to own my own training business where I can help the youth of today advance their athletic talents. But more importantly, I also want to help them improve their overall belief systems and life skills.

My background as an athlete and trainer has taken me throughout the world. As an athlete, I was a basketball player at the collegiate and professional level. In 2011, I won the NCAA Slam Dunk Contest and went on to play with the Harlem Globetrotters. Through intense training that started at age 13, I was able to achieve a max vertical of 50 inches and a height-touch of 11’8”. Without the training and mentors along the way, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I loved playing sports, but I loved training for them just as much. I started making my own training programs in high school. My junior and senior year in college, I made the strength and conditioning programs for our basketball team. After graduating college with an Exercise Science degree, I began my professional training career in Raleigh, North Carolina. While in North Carolina, I had the opportunity to work with some of the Duke and UNC basketball players, athletes entering the NBA draft, and hundreds of middle school and high school athletes. I’ve had athletes from over 12 different countries travel in to train with me. I have also had the opportunity to speak at numerous conferences and clinics about athletic performance and in-depth jumping mechanics.

Training has brought me back to my hometown area where I look to bring the knowledge and experience I have gained to help local athletes. Through TAP Training, my wife and I hope to instill in athletes the life skills and sport experience needed to achieve their athletic goals.
